“DANCE IS THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL.”

15-amy

Ms. Amy works as an adjunct professor at York College, and a dance instructor here at Greater York Dance. With goals to promote and support arts in education and dance in the community, Mullen-Johnson works with the PCA/Arts stARTSomething, a regional program of Cultural Alliance of York that integrates cross curriculum through the arts. In addition Mullen works with the Fulton Theatre’s education and outreach programs to promote critical literacy through the arts, engaging young people with storytelling, theatre, dance, and creative writing. Mullen’s extensive experiences as a teacher, performer, and choreographer have been developed through all of these journeys. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes building community, cultivating artistry, and developing a sense of creative growth through self-expression and risk taking. Her artistic work currently explores site-specific dance with video technology. And to think, she started here at Greater York Dance and studied here until graduation. We are very proud of her accomplishments!
